Improve Your Bridge: Defence

There are many players who are sound bidders and competent declarers but who struggle time and time again when defending a hand. This course will guide you through the basics of good defence: opening leads, signals and discards, and defensive problems that arise during the hand. It will also introduce the idea of planning the defence. You will learn to defeat more contracts and become a feared opponent.
 

Prepared hands to illustrate the different aspects of defence are then played and analysed to emphasise these key areas.

All the presentations used in this course are specifically prepared in conjunction with the English Bridge Union. They provide the same structure of learning as the Bridge for All lessons run by the EBU but with the enhanced presentation style unique to the Professional Bridge Tuition programme.
