Improve Your Bridge: Declarer Play

Complementing the Bidding course, this will tackle declarer play, both in no trumps and in suit contracts. It will look at

·       Planning the hand
·       Establishing tricks
·       The finesse
·       Communication plays
·       Using trumps to best advantage

The elements of defensive play will also be introduced, including standard leads and signals for use by the defenders.

As with the Bidding course, each week there will be several prepared hands to play and analyse afterwards, with points raised designed to illustrate the evening’s card-play theme. After each hand a comprehensive written summary of the deal will be provided with a suggested auction and an analysis of the recommended line of play.
